VoiceAmp have been involved in amplification devices for some 25 years.
Six years ago VoiceAmp turned its attention to helping People Who Stutter (PWS).
After many years of refinement VoiceAmp have a robust platform that allow customised Altered Auditory Feedback (AAF) to be used with PWS.
Studies with Parkinson’s Disorder (PD) have showed that AAF has a meaningful role to play.
To quote from a recent study: The hypothesis is that the use of altered auditory feedback provides salient sensory information that triggers ancillary
loops to allow people with PD to initiate their speech
more easily and to maintain a constant speaking rate, thus making their speech more intelligible.
PD sufferers can enjoy improved speech intelligibility and projection in one high performance portable package. Other neurological disorders may also benefit from this product.
These devices are programmable to match the individual characteristics and environment of each individual. Programs can then be selected from a simple keypad or switch on the device
This unit can be pre-programmed for specific disorders: Parkinson’s, Spasmodic Dysphonia, ALS and
Disarthric types of disorders. The amplifier uses pre-set settings for
different environments: Quiet, Normal or Loud ambient environments.
